I completely agree. But there's another aspect that I feel doesn't get mentioned: most people in Western countries other than Israel have a limited idea of what war actually involves. To most Westerners, war is something that happens somewhere else, overseas, and probably doesn't involve anyone you know. If your idea of war comes mainly from Hollywood and video games, the idea that all wars involve heavy civilian casualties, even caused by the "good guys," is going to be a shock. This ignorance provides the fertile ground in the which the antisemitic seed can take root.

Well put- but I fear many non-Jews will ignore it.

As the saying goes (possibly in low quality journalism - and sometimes in supposedly high quality -as we see too often) never let the facts get in the way of a good story.
