Dear Readers,
First of all, I want to thank you for your support. In the sixteen months since Orthodox Conundrum Commentary first launched, our community has grown to over 1800 subscribers, almost 2000 followers, and even greater numbers of readers. It is an honor and a pleasure to be able to write articles that resonate, touch a nerve, or even irritate you. My goal has always been to engender respectful dialogue, and I am flattered that some of my articles have contributed to serious discussions around issues that matter. I appreciate your comments - both on Substack and in private emails - and look forward to expanding the conversation, making this an even more dynamic and intellectually stimulating community.
Writing Orthodox Conundrum Commentary has been a labor of love for me; the opportunity to express my thoughts about the important issues facing the Orthodox Jewish world has been extraordinarily rewarding. The fact that my musings sometimes strike a chord makes this endeavor even more gratifying.
Until now, Orthodox Conundrum Commentary has been accessible free of charge, and that will continue to be the case. Starting on October 1st, I will be offering readers the opportunity to support our mission via a monthly or yearly payment. This will enable me to spend more time working on Orthodox Conundrum Commentary, writing additional articles, and enhancing it in other ways. I am looking forward to growing Orthodox Conundrum Commentary into a bigger and more influential online publication; your financial commitment is the first step in making that possible.
Some of you have already pledged your support, and I’m extremely grateful for your help. I hope that more of you will help me grow Orthodox Conundrum Commentary by sharing it with your friends, by commenting, and by upgrading to a paid subscription. I will be offering live Zoom meetings exclusively with paid subscribers where I can hear your voice and where we can discuss the issues affecting Orthodox Jews together, and perhaps even offer some solutions to longstanding problems.
Thank you for supporting this platform and being a partner in this important mission. Together we will work to create a positive, G-d-centered, halachic, intellectually honest, self-aware, accountable, and welcoming Orthodox Judaism.
Sincerely,Â
Scott
Just don't put up a paywall for us poor Jews!
